January Newsletter

Operational updates. Real momentum. Clear purpose. This month’s newsletter is more operational than inspirational, but clarity matters. There is a lot moving inside the CrossFit Medical Society ecosystem, and we want to make sure the details stay clear as we continue to build. That said, we are incredibly excited about these updates and grateful to be moving this work forward with such an aligned community.

Functional strength—the type CrossFit trains—is not merely about lifting heavy; it is about the ability to apply force across a range of movements, speeds, and contexts. This capability allows individuals to maintain independence, resist injury, and endure stressors that otherwise accelerate decline

CrossFit stands as a counterculture by refusing to sell ease, instead building longevity through the one thing wellness avoids: adaptation earned through deliberate, sustained effort.

Defining Fitness: Flexibility

New research shows that whole-body flexibility is independently associated with mortality risk in middle-aged adults, even after controlling for age and health status.
